The application for the Winter Abroad Trip is now open! The deadline is October 23rd at 11:59 P.M.
There are three options for a destination: Peru, Costa Rica, or Nicaragua. An entry on the application will ask for your choice of these three locations; the one with the most answers will most likely become the destination for the Winter Trip.

FIMRC at UCSD is proud to present our second Children’s Health Awareness Day event, a night featuring guest speakers from the medical community and a wine-tasting opportunity for those of you 21+. It will be on Thursday June 2nd, from 7:30-11:30 PM at The Loft on campus.

In addition to our guest speakers, we will be holding a Wine Tasting Fundraiser/Social for a chance to meet others who are passionate about the cause while enjoying appetizers provided by Zanzibar Cafe, chocolate sponsored by UCSD Student Sustainability Collective, and wine provided by Orfila Winery, for those who are the age of 21 and older. Orfila Winery is one of the locals’ favorites, located in North County San Diego.
Invisible Children will also be holding a jewelry / art auction to support their cause of helping the children of Uganda, and there will be a live performance from local band T.O.N.S.

FIMRC @ UCSD will be having our second GBM of Spring quarter on Monday, April 25th in Center 222 at 8pm to 10pm. We will be having officer elections for next year so be sure to come out and vote!

The event will be tons of fun with lots of raffle prizes. The donations committee has worked hard to put together over $600 in raffle prizes from Trader Joes, Baskin Robbins, In-N-Out, Papa Johns and many others. Enter for a chance to win with a $1 contribution! The “grand” raffle prize is a one night stay at La Costa Resort & Spa, a $10 contribution for each grand raffle prize entry!! If you don’t like raffles, you can cool down after the run with Baskin Robbins ice cream cart on site with some of the proceeds going to the free clinic.

Travelers will have the opportunity to travel abroad and learn about other cultures while volunteering to help educate people about nutrition and disease prevention while promoting health awareness through FIMRC’s medical clinics.

Come shake off the back to school blues at FIMRC’s first GBM of Spring Quarter! We’ll be discussing Tijuana Trips, Relay for Life, and our upcoming Officer Elections. Wednesday, 4/6 at 8pm in CSB 005
FIMRC will be at The Pines dining hall from 8 AM to 8 PM on Thursday, 3/10/11 collecting meal point donations for Mama’s Kitchen, a San Diego non profit that works to provide food for those affected by AIDS or cancer.
